• School grounds picture update

  Here is an up to date picture of the school grounds. Based what can be seen, the school grounds still look clear. That will be all the salt put down over the last two days. (Sorry Kids) The challenge will be getting to the school. I will hopefully have an updated picture early in the morning. We should be open.

  

• Weather update

  Whilst snow is forecast, it isn't due to be heavy until the end of the school day. At present we will be open all day. However, you may want to collect your child early. At present we will allow you to collect your child from 2pm today if you feel the need to do so. Thank you.

• School access 31 January

  Another cold and frosty morning. The main entrance, Infant Yard, top Junior gate and nursery gates are all open and the paths are salted. However the Llangefellach gate remains closed, sorry. Please take care on site. Whilst paths are salted it is impossible to salt everything and there will still be some slippery patches. If you feel unsure please use the main entrance.

  

• Winter weather Update

  Dear Parents,

  The cold winter weather looks like it is on its way with several reputable weather websites (e.g. the Met Office) predicting light snow possibly Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning being clear but cold with icy conditions and heavier snowfall being possible on Thursday afternoon. At present the prediction for depth of snow is not great and it could all end up as rain but as we saw last week, snow and ice together could make school, access very difficult. At present we anticipate that school will be open all day on all days but we urge you to download the ‘theschoolapp’ and then find ‘Gwyrosydd’ and we will keep you updated via the school website.

   

  We will also post information on Twitter and Facebook but urge you to download the app as it will update you more regularly and enable us to make direct contact in the very near future. The school web address is simply gwyrosyddprimaryschool.co.uk

   

  As I say we anticipate school will be open at this time but assessments are dynamic as we see what the weather actually brings.
